Oh Lord of the broken heart

Oh Lord of the broken heart
Oh Lord of the heavy soul.
Oh Lord you come to me
Oh Lord you come to all.
Oh Lord of the lonely life,
Oh Lord of the lost and cast down.
Oh Lord you come to me
Oh Lord you come to all.

Oh Lord of the suffering ones
Oh Lord of the helpless child.
Oh Lord you come to me
Oh Lord you come to all.
Oh Lord of the silent tears
Oh Lord of the desperate fears.
Oh Lord you come to me
Oh Lord you come to all.

Your grace, your grace
Forgiveness and love,
Grace and mercy found.
Your love, your love
Your peace and your hope,
Grace and mercy found.

Oh Lord of the shattered dreams
Oh Lord of the guilty plea
Oh Lord you come to me
Oh Lord you come to all.
Oh Lord of such perfect love
Unconditional and free
Oh Lord you come to me
Oh Lord you come to all.

Geoff, I'm so glad to find your blog. After hearing your song this morning, I was thinking, I want to read those words over again! Your little talks and songs this week at school have been a great blessing as I struggle through a bleak period in my life. Thank you so much for doing what you do.

Hiya Geoff, just dropping by to say hi and again be encouraged by your poetry. Have spent the last 16 months... and the rest of my life, I hope... getting to know and trust and love, finally, the Jesus of the Gospels who is not to be compared with the Jesus that has evolved out of 2000 years of tradition. He has 'Come to me.' And it's my prayer that as I live out my ordinary life in the ordinary world somehow, I'll be an insturment of him coming to some of the all. :-)

That's wonderful! Grace is so transforming, so wondrous. The knowledge deep in our hearts that it is God who comes to us and not us who go to him. We are the recipients of unconditional, unmerited grace, love, acceptance, forgiveness, mercy..... far too wonderful for words.

Hi Geoff, I have bipolar and last year my husband left me in my darkest time of my life. I didn't think I would see the light again. The joy of Jesus in my life was gone and there was no way out. Eventually His light came again I saw the way out and now doing great. God has healed and not I am strong again.Your song Wild and Amazing tells my story as I looked for Jesus and I didn't feel him. Thank you for writing that song.

Bless you heaps Darleen. Mental illness is such a journey. I pray that, in this journey, you are aware of his grace even though you may not be able to feel it.
Feeling God does not prove his nearness.. I had to learn this really early on.

Hi Geoff, yes I realise that God is near always even if you can't feel him. God allows these things to happen to mould you for His purpose :) Darleen
