Tell me why.

Tell me why
Why are we fearful?
Perfect love is the end of all fear.
We are loved so perfectly,
Graced, forgiven and free.

Tell me why,
Why are we guilty,
When his grace is sufficient for all?
We are graced overwhelmingly,
Loved forgiven and free.

Freedom comes, freedom comes,
Freedom comes to unburden my heart
And lighten my soul.
Freedom comes, freedom comes,
Freedom comes in mercy and grace
And love.

Tell me why, why are you hiding
Love and grace has come to us all
We are loved unconditionally,

Graced unmerited, free.

Hi Geoff - really appreciate this poem - I am wondering if it would be ok with you if I used it in church for this Sunday?

Geoff - I am so glad you're writing again. Or maybe you've been writing but now you're posting. Whatever it is, I'm grateful. These are great questions. I've been looking at some of them this morning in my quiet time and then I come here and there they are again. Why are we fearful? No kidding. Really. I think God is trying to tell you something, along with all the rest of us.

Hello Candy, it's lovely seeing your name pop up on my blog!! Yes, I have decided to put some effort into being a more consistent "blogger". I am posting lyrics to my songs and various other archived material as well as new "stuff" as it is being written and worked through. Often the process of posting new material helps me rewrite and trim. As I wrote in the comment above, "Tell me why" is the lyric to a song that is posted on the music link at my website... www.geoffbullock.com. Please let me know if you find it and what you think

Hello Geoff,
I want to say how much I have appreciated the words in your songs. I often find myself hiding from the Lord - in my heart I know I am forgiven, loved etc. etc. However, I still hide, I'm not sure why, is it because I don't know what to say, or am I afraid what the Lord will say? The ills of the world are so overwhelming - how can I pray?

Thanks Geoff - I have downloaded the song. Great that you are still writing, and I really appreciate the direction of your lyrics. It is refreshing to find lyrics that is not so "self-indulgent" (as in the "Jesus is my boyfriend" genre. Do you ever come to Melbourne? If you did happen to, we would love for you to share some of your journey with our community. You can email me on christina.aitken@gmail.com if this is a remote possibility. Fine if not of course :-)

Steff, I have posted another song that made me think of you. God comes to us because he wants to be near us. This is the heart of the Christmas message. God is in your hiding, he is with you wherever you go and whatever you do. Do not worry or fret, God is not expecting anything of you. I hope that today's song.."I'm learning to be loved" is of some comfort for you.
