We learn so much in the darkness,
but only appreciate it
when we emerge into the light.

I recently visited my 91 year old father and he told me the most amazing thing. He looked at me and said, "I finally realized what I've been lacking all these years, wisdom. I've been praying Psalm 51:6 for myself and I think I'm getting it." My mom looks at me and said, "It's true. He's different." Can you imagine? 91 years old. I love that man. And yes, he has needed wisdom. He has had a tortured life. But now, it appears he is stepping into the light!!

Perhaps it was a double portion of healing, Geoff ;)

That's encouraging, Candy! Wow. I keep being confronted lately with the idea that we NEVER, EVER stop growing. It's been a lie fed to us that we do, methinks. God is a bit more creative than that ;)

One of the people I love most to sharpen my thinking with is nearly 80 years old - and established our denomination Mission in PNG 50+ years ago. He challenges me thinking about faith and what the bible means in today's society.

For some reason, most people use the word Wise when describing him!!
