You find yourself on pause.
Darkness has written a scrawled name
threatening, leering, callous and cold.
It taunts you,
assailing hope,
challenging foundations and anchors.
Your mind struggles to understand.
Perhaps it would prefer to sleep away this sudden night.
Yes, as always there is light,
but, this time, you realise you must travel a different road.
So dear soul, do not look too far ahead.
There will be time for tears.
There will be time for reflection,
but, even time must bow as we ride blindly into an uncertain future,
and, dear end of days,
let your songs be lullabies to our fears.
For a dear friend of mine

Wow. Utter brilliance in the face of a fearful future. Astounding.
..dear end of days let your songs be lullabies to our fears.
Those pictures, of God as end of days and his action in our world, supremely through Jesus life, death and resurrection, as a lullaby to calm us are beautiful. I love the juxtaposition of God as the powerful end of all things, with God as a parent singing lullabies. to us

I think this is a wonderful juxtaposition of God the powerful end of all things with God the loving parent who comforts us with lullabies. It reflects my experience of God the creator and my dear saviour Jesus who constantly sings to me a lullaby of love and forgiveness.
