Old memories die hard.
They resurrect themselves
Just when you've finished the burial.
Old memories haunt you,
Accuse you,
Rob you,
Deny you a future
Whilst imprisoned in the past
Where the deeds are judged
More harshly
Than the good remembered.
My memories follow me,
They link their tendrils
Around my guilty mind
Until I agree
With their tainted words.
Memories,
God, deliver me
From these memories.

For me, the good memories stick out the most. And even with the bad ones, it's like the bad memories are somehow sugarcoated. Although there have been some times when memories had come to haunt me, but God did lift me out of that. I'm not sure exactly how it happened, but I remember it was during a time when I really opened up and just felt a huge weight being lifted from me.

Dear Geoff, I was there when it all went for you all those many years ago. Dont let the past dictate you future. You give me hope. I might be a noone in the church and have made some pretty bad decisions that I still struggle to resolve. If I had made the right choices who knows where I would be now. Praying for all of us.
