And so the waters came,
quietly at first,
then swelling up
to a torrent.
The spray dances above the waves
catching the light in rainbow.
I hear the call,
a small cry above the wind
and slowly I edge my way into the stream.
For so long I had been taught
to swim against the tide,
but now it was no use,
I surrendered to the flow.

love this!!!
You continue to put into words the things I am living or feeling. This is where I have been spiritually for the last two years. Perfectly worded. I think that's interesting.
Hi Geoff,
This seems to hinge on the opposites of self-effort and grace. And the church often promotes self-effort - to swim against the tide. I think grace often shows up in failure and in "sin" as we like to define it. It's exhilarating to be swept along in grace.
Amen!
